Water Meter Installer

KTI Utility Services is thrilled to announce a major project with the City of Calgary and are seeking numerous self-starting individuals to add to their water meter installation team! If you consider yourself to be an independent worker, with a great attitude, that loves to interact with customers, then this job is for you!

The position involves strong mechanical aptitude and a good understanding of plumbing principles, and basic carpentry. Your primary role will be to replace old water meters with new water meter and radio transmitters.

- Full-time employment, 40hr/week average, with EI and CPP deductions - Salary: Base of $22.88/$35/HR + Piece Rate Bonuses

- Contract Length: 55 months (with possible project extensions)

- Business KMs paid at .70 per KM, paid monthly

What would your day look like as a WMI with KTI?

- Installation and service work related to water meters

- Installation of water meters will be performed 25% outdoors, 75% indoor

- Installation of transmitters and associated equipment

- Recording old and new water meter readings

- Coordinates installation scheduling and meets quality/quantity and safety requirements

- Digital data entry through an Electronic Work Order on a handheld device

- Self management of assigned accounts to completion

- Working in compliance with Health and Safety Policy/Procedures

- Communicate updates to clients with top-notch customer service

- Any other duties which may be assigned to you from time to time by your manager

Who is our ideal candidate?

- Construction/Trades/Laborer: 1 year +

- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools

- Mechanical aptitude

- Excellent communication and customer service skills

- Able to stand on feet, bend or stoop for a prolonged period of time (25% outdoors, 75% indoors)

- Able to work with minimal supervision

- Previous water meter installation experience is an asset

- Soldering and plumbing experience preferred

Mandatory Requirements:

- Valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle (with a valid insurance)

- Mandatory clean criminal background check and drivers abstract

- Saturday shifts required
