Job Overview
We are seeking two (2) dedicated and knowledgeable Environmental Wastewater Treatment Specialists to join our team. The ideal candidates should have 5 years' minimum experience in an environmental role/WWT and a proven history of related project management.
- Manage wastewater collection inside and outside the facility.
- Monitor underground collection wells, piping, and equipment for proper function and structural integrity.
- Inspection, monitoring, and managing condition of the ditch liner along with emergency collection if needed.
- Responsible for the wastewater treatment plant equipment.
- Operate forklift and overhead crane in order to stock chemicals and remove waste involved in the treatment of wastewater.
- Manage condition of all equipment related to wastewater collection and treatment.
- Use laboratory equipment to monitor the treated wastewater for approved levels of chemicals and metals before pumping to POTW.
- Manage rainwater sheet flow and rerouting as needed and as stated in SWPPP and Ditch Interim Measure Monitoring Plan.
- Assist with performing a variety of environmental managerial work to facilitate and maintain compliance with environmental laws, regulations, and permits through explanation of permit terms and regulatory obligations, leadership, training and team building.
- Recommend appropriate action to assure conformance with federal, state, and municipal legislation and regulations regarding environmental or operational controls to eliminate exposures.
- Supports human resource personnel with safety awareness programs from an environmental perspective.
- Requisition materials and services. Receive product and or services within MIS to assist in the accounts payable process.
- Perform essential duties as outlined in the SPCC plan
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, engineering, or chemistry preferred. 2-year degree in a related field will be considered.
- 5 years’ minimum experience in an environmental role/WWT. Must have a broad knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and industrial equipment and a proven history of related project management with hands on experience.
- Active Ohio WWT certificate preferred. Proven experience in water treatment or wastewater treatment processes is essential.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Intermediate computer skills, including MS Office, Excel, and Windows.
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and consistently meet deadlines.
