The Wastewater Belt Filter Press Operator is responsible for the duties associated with dewatering bio solids for our Wastewater Treatment Facility.
Essential Job Functions
- Performs operation of the sludge dewatering process including Belt Filter Press operation, sludge handling equipment and structures, and all associated sludge process apparatuses.
- Performs general housekeeping including Belt Filter Press building, sludge loading bay, polymer feed and storage areas, office, restroom, areas around pumps and holding tanks.
- Maintains records for all sludge dewatering process operations consisting of daily logs, daily operating records, weekly operating records, and monthly operating records.
- Conducts sample collection for laboratory analysis for assessment of operation efficiency.
- Performs routine inspection of all sludge dewatering process equipment, machines, and structures.
- Troubleshoots sludge dewatering process upsets and provides expertise and recommendations to correct operational problems.
Minimum Qualifications
Applicants must have a High School diploma or GED. A valid Ohio Driver's license with a safe driving record and a drug screening are required.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
Applicants should have familiarity with the dewatering procedure, maintaining and operating the belt filter press and other equipment, oversee process controls, ensure general housekeeping, adhere to safety standards, and provide on-the-job training to less experienced employees. Applicants should be able to demonstrate increased initiative and logic, exercise good judgement, exhibit sound decision-making when faced with complex or unique situations, and consistently deliver general customer service in a professional fashion. This position may require overtime, shift, weekend and holiday work, as well as flexible hours and rotating days.
