Pressure Control Operator
JOB SUMMARY: The primary role of the pressure control operator is to help with the field operation of rig up, operate and rig down equipment, perform maintenance of equipment, maintain, and submit drivers’ logs and time sheets in a timely fashion, and follow required safety and operational procedures.
Responsibilities:
•Understand and adhere to all Canatex policies and procedures, furthermore, understand and adhere to any client’s policies and procedures;
•Promote and participate in all required safety, compliance, and certifications programs;
•Participate in rig up, operate and rig down PCE;
•Maintain all required logbooks and inspection reports;
•Complete pre- and post-trip inspections, and fuel and service units;
•Maintain assigned equipment and perform daily inspections to ensure compliance with operational and safety requirements;
•Report all operational deficiencies to supervisor and maintenance personnel;
•Proficiently perform equipment inspection and maintenance as requested and complete paperwork;
•Operate equipment in accordance with company procedures;
•Monitor well control parameters and calculations before and during job applications;
•Maintains general housekeeping, clean up, repair, and preparation of equipment for the next job;
•Practice safe driving procedures when travelling to and from locations;
•Participate in required company training and HSE culture;
•Responsible for load out and pre job checks as directed;
•Rigging up and rigging down equipment on locations while following proper ;procedures;
•Responsible for operating & servicing all grease units, blow out preventers, grease head, and lubricators;
•Responsible for performing and documenting all pressure tests for these components after service;
•Obtains and maintains an inventory of expendable materials and parts for these items;
•Aids management in developing a preventive maintenance system for these components;
•Assists operator/field personnel with job related problems associated with these components;
•Coordinates with the asset personnel at the district & corporate level to track & document inspections & recertifications;
•Operates trucks and tractors as needed;
•Prepares Job Safety Analysis forms, identifying potential hazards and making suggestions to mitigate them, participates in BBS program, utilizes Stop Work Authority if necessary;
•Participates in mandatory training sessions;
•Performs other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
•Prior work experience in wireline operations;
•Basic knowledge of safety requirements and industry practices;
•Working knowledge of all well forming aspects preferred;
•General knowledge of the oil and gas industry;
•Excellent communication, technical writing, and public speaking skills;
•Maintain effective working relationship with other employees;
•Able to understand and carry out routine oral and written instructions;
•Good mechanical aptitude.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
•Able to be on call 24/7 when scheduled to work Willing to work long hours;
•Able to lift 70 pounds on a regular basis;
•Safely operate, maintain, and perform minor repairs on equipment
Educations, Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:
•CDL Hazmat and tank License preferred;
•First Aid and CPR Certified preferred;
•High School Diploma or equivalent;
•Man Lift & Forklift Certified.
Qualifications:
•Must have at 3 years’ experience working as a pressure control operator;
•Minimum 1 year of pump down experience;
•Results from a pre-employment test must be deemed acceptable in accordance with Canatex policies;
•5 years commercial/drivers abstract must be in compliant with Canatex’s guidelines;
•Preference will be given to candidates that reside in the immediate area of the position;
•Must have the ability to pass a federal background check;
•Must be authorized to work in the United States with no restrictions.

Pay: From $20.00 per hour
