We are expanding and are seeking two reliable and safety-focused Wash Plant Operators to join our team at a sand mining operation. The Wash Plant Operator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the wash plant, which involves the sorting, washing, and processing of sand and aggregate materials to meet quality specifications. This role includes operating large wheel loaders, monitoring equipment, troubleshooting operational issues, performing routine maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.
A successful candidate for the Wash Plant Operator position will be a hands-on, mechanically inclined individual with a strong commitment to safety and quality. This person thrives in a physically demanding, outdoor environment and takes ownership of the equipment and processes under their care.
· Operate and monitor the wash plant and associated equipment to ensure efficient processing of sand and aggregate materials.
· Conduct routine inspections and perform preventative maintenance on wash plant machinery.
· Monitor product quality and adjust plant settings to maintain production standards.
· Troubleshoot mechanical issues and coordinate with maintenance personnel for repairs.
· Maintain accurate records of production, equipment performance, and downtime.
· Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
· Ensure environmental compliance by managing water usage, sediment control, and waste disposal in accordance with regulations.
· Communicate effectively with plant supervisors, loader operators, and other team members to coordinate workflow and maintain productivity.
We are looking for individuals with a hardworking and safety-first attitude, who have basic knowledge of tools and mechanics. Individuals must be self-motivated and adaptable to change. Other basic requirements include
· Prior experience operating a wash plant or working in a mining or aggregate production environment preferred.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, outdoor environment.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
· Ability to lift heavy objects, work in varying weather conditions, and operate heavy machinery.
· Must be able to complete all safety ticket training.
· Must have a class 5 driver's license with an insurable driver abstract with a clean driving record
· Boot allowance provided after the probationary period
