Minimum Qualifications Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum 1 year of related work experience.
- Any equivalent combination of certifications, education, or experience that provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities for the position.
- Must be able to work flexible schedule including on-call shifts, overtime, overnights, and holidays.
- Must possess Forklift Certification within 6 months of appointment.
- Must possess a valid Class 'B' Colorado Commercial Driver's License within 6 months of appointment.
- Must be able to possess and maintain a valid Class 'R' Colorado driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record.
- This is a safety sensitive job where an employee's direct action/inaction may lead to immediate harm to self, team, or the public and/or will have significant risk to the mission of Denver Water. To promote the safety, employees in this job must possess English proficiency adequate to effectively communicate with customers and coworkers, including proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
Position Summary
Under general supervision, provide material to employees from all areas of the organization, as well as contractors. Coordinate and assign work to employees within the warehouse, provide exceptional customer service, fill orders, stock warehouse(s), forecast inventory needs, receive materials, and ship material.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have formal supervisory responsibilities over other employees.
- Delegate, plan and schedule work of personnel involved in the receiving, handling, inspecting, storing, and issuing of all warehouse stock, tools, equipment, and special construction materials.
- Review incoming and outgoing orders to verify that proper materials and components are included and correctly recorded. Maintain a variety of records.
- Ensure periodic physical inventories and daily cycle inventories. Establish stocking quantities, solve inventory discrepancies, and ensure replacement orders are initiated.
- Train newly assigned employees in materials operations including computerized inventory control system.
- Operate and routinely maintain equipment such as electric forklifts, diesel forklifts, front end loaders, and overhead cranes.
- Conduct audits of critical stock items, reconcile inventory variances, establish, and maintain remote inventories.
- Analyze additions to material stock for standards compliance and recommend cost effective alternatives.
- Provide advice to warehouse foreman and manager. Act as liaison with IT staff to resolve JDE/RF Smart (Barcode system) problems.
- Perform obsolete material disposal tasks to reduce inventory.
- Perform related work as required.
