Warehouse Supervisor

Description:

Warehouse supervisor is responsible for directing and controlling the warehouse operations and deliveries to ensure efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing and distributing of inventories. The warehouse manager supervises prompt delivery of merchandise, of the kind, and in the amount ordered. This person oversees the handling of inventory, including shipping (UPS and our truck), receiving, cycle counting, yearly inventory, and company transfers. May operate lift trucks, hand trucks, or other equipment in loading or unloading trucks.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

- Responsible for company assets.

- Supervises the receiving, storing and shipping of material, equipment merchandise and supplies.

- Assigns, directs and trains warehouse Associates in their daily responsibilities.

- Plans and coordinates the transfer of materials to and from associated warehouses and branches.

- Coordinates the delivery of all outgoing material while meeting all time commitments.

- Develops, recommends and implements improvements in the warehouse practices to promote customer service, efficiency, faster service and lower costs.

- Directs the planning and assignment of work for the most efficient use of personnel and equipment.

- Supervises and participates in the loading, unloading and routing of trucks.

- Advises Branch Manager of any supplies needed, or of any maintenance and repair required.

- Maintains and tracks daily truck logs.

- Supervises and participates in the maintenance and safe operation of trucks and warehouse equipment.

- Responsible for assisting in the selection, hiring and termination on Associates.

- Conducts annual performance reviews for each warehouse employee.

- Ensure quality objectives are met while operating within the allocated budget and meeting delivery deadlines, by being flexible and working in the most efficient way with the given resources.

- Ensuring the health, safety and cleanliness of the work environment, overseeing daily inspections of all trucks.
