The Valuation and Investments (V&I) team is the center of excellence for financial analysis within AES’ U.S. Renewables business. We are seeking a Manager to lead efforts in the West region—including WECC, CAISO, and Hawaii. This person will collaborate closely with teams across the business, including Commercial, Development, and M&A to manage valuation work for both greenfield development and M&A opportunities, guiding projects through key investment decisions.
In this role, you’ll also lead and support strategic initiatives and financial analyses that inform leadership decisions and shape our long-term strategy. As a people leader, you will support the professional growth of 1–3 direct reports and play a critical role in building an inclusive, high-performing team. This role reports to the Senior Director of Valuation and Investments.

Must be local or willing to relocate to New York City, NY, Salt Lake City, Utah, Louisville, Colorado, or Arlington, Virginia.
Key Responsibilities:
•Lead valuation efforts for new investment opportunities—including both greenfield development and M&A—in the West region.
•Build and review complex financial models that incorporate debt, tax equity, and project equity structures to enable financing.
•Coordinate cross-functional teams to develop robust business cases, identify risks, and surface potential upsides.
•Guide projects through the investment process, ensuring alignment with strategic and financial objectives.
•Present clear, compelling investment cases to leadership and internal stakeholders.
•Partner across teams to develop regional strategies, decision-making tools, and analyses that enhance prioritization and innovation.
•Manage and mentor team members; foster a culture of inclusion, growth, and continuous improvement.
Skills and Qualifications:
•Expertise in renewable energy finance, including strong familiarity with investment decision making in U.S. power markets (with a focus on solar, wind, and energy storage).
•Advanced experience in modeling debt and tax equity for renewable energy transactions.
•Track record of leading teams and managing projects that require coordination across multiple stakeholders.
•Strong communication and presentation skills—able to explain complex concepts clearly and confidently.
•Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Education:
•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Business, Math, or a related field—or equivalent professional experience.
