Position location will vary depending on project.
Position requires 90% travel.
Position Summary:
Provide technical expertise, data quality, trend analysis and system troubleshooting for the operation and test of LM6000 engines. Maintain all maintenance, instrumentation calibration, quality, serviceability, repair and control of Test Stand process and procedures.
Position Responsibilities:
•Inspect, repair, install and remove all types of motors, generators, transformers, switchgear, control equipment, wiring, electrical signal and communication systems, storage batteries, and work with electrical systems up to and including 13.5KV.
•Diagnoses electrical, I & C, electronic, electrical systems problems.
•Serves as a technical resource for personnel with regard electrical, I & E, electronic, electrical operation and maintenance. Proficient in PLC Logic Programming, Data Acquisition & Computer Coding.
•Conducts electrical and electronic systems inspection calibrations and tests as required to ensure plant is operating within specified parameters.
•Responds to all electronic and electrical malfunctions as directed.
•Ensure data quality, analyze trends and operating parameters on all electronic and electrical systems to identify potential or impending failures. Certify plant is running at optimal efficiency.
•Implement, compile and maintain a historian data system.
•Repair, maintain and install electrical systems. Rearrange, adapt and modify as directed.
•Assists Troubleshooting and repair of turbine controls, load bank and Plant Distribution Control Systems.
•Assists Test Operation personnel in the safe and reliable operation of the power plant DCS.
•Performs a variety of maintenance activities, including, but not limited to, equipment and test equipment calibration, balance and alignment inspections, lubrication, etc.
•Assist in developing, reviewing, and revising departmental procedures, logs and summaries.
•Participates in programs and procedures required to ensure plant cleanliness.
•Be available for overtime work on a scheduled or call-in basis as required.
•Ability to work in a safe professional manner adhering to all regulatory requirements including, OSHA, EPA, DOT, State and Federal regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:
•Associate degree in Controls/Instrumentation discipline, or High School diploma followed by apprenticeship training, or Military experience relating to Controls/Instrumentation and HVAC.
•2+ years of prior work experience in a comparable role which would demonstrate candidate's ability to read and interpret P&IDs, Electrical one-lines, Logic drawings, Technical Manuals, I/O lists, etc.
•Successful candidate will need to complete pre-employment drug screen and background check.
•Must have legal authority to permanently work in the U.S. and a valid US driver’s license.
Desired Qualifications:
•3+ years’ experience in a power plant or HVAC environment.
•Demonstrated competency in analog and digital process control loop and instrument maintenance repair and troubleshooting.
•Experience with LM6000 highly preferred. CF6 Aviation experience is a plus.
•Component alignment, vibration system and balance experience.
•Allen-Bradley PLC or equivalent programming and operation experience.
•Demonstrated understanding of electrical equipment operation, electrical equipment maintenance requirements and maintenance restrictions imposed by safety and environmental regulations.
•Technical competence including understanding software, hardware, networks, etc.
•Available to work flexible work schedules in seemingly tight quarters and uncomfortable temperatures.
Essential Functions:
Successful candidate must be able, with or without an accommodation, to perform the following essential functions:
•Able to climb ladders and scaffolds.
•Must be able to work at 40' + heights, operate boom lifts, forklifts and front loader equipment.
