is a facility in River Rouge, MI on Zug Island. The plant produces coke from various types of coal blends and is then used as fuel in the blast furnaces at the steel mill.

The position includes health, dental, vision, and prescription insurance starting day one of employment. This position also receives quarterly bonuses of up to $7,500 per year, based on EES Coke Battery’s quality and production.

The person in this job will work a 12-hour rotating shift. The schedule is a 4-week rotation; you will work 14 out of 28 days with 7 days off in a row somewhere within the 4-week rotation.

This is an entry level position that will progress to a Utility Technician position after completion of orientation and training.

Operates equipment and performs tasks that support operations of the various producing units and works with materials and equipment to handle, transport and process product and materials. Directs the flow of material to and from producing units and inspects material. Inspects and performs maintenance on all associated equipment. Work is performed under direct supervision with results reviewed through the achievement of set goals and adherence to policies and procedures.

+ Strong safety experience + Ability to work in a team orientated atmosphere + Demonstrated capability to achieve results through people, technology, and processing equipment + Good knowledge of the assigned area(s) of responsibility + Ability to function within a matrix organization where employees report to both a functional leader and a business leader + Ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with both a functional and business leader + Must be goal oriented + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, coworkers, and management
