We are looking for a Utility Operator (Probationary) to operate and monitor all equipment pertaining to the areas of the Spray Dry Operation, which includes Zinc Borate Fines Mill, charge-making and charge transferring equipment, and processing and packaging equipment.

Reporting to the Supervisor and working in a diverse team, you will be:
- Operate lift trucks and other equipment.
- Move and stage raw materials for plant use in appropriate areas.
- Perform minor maintenance on equipment as needed.
- Collect and submit samples to the lab, initiating corrective actions as required.
- Collect and record process data on appropriate forms.
- Complete packing slips accurately.
- Wash and clean process equipment according to prescribed standards.
- Ensure equipment operates correctly and safely, correcting unsafe or potentially damaging conditions.
- Contain and control spilled or dumped product to maximize recovery and minimize waste generation.
- Isolate and prepare equipment for maintenance/operations using LOTO methods and follow HSE work instructions and job procedures. Attend HSE training sessions, review work practices for HSE issues, and properly store and dispose of materials impacting the environment.

- Valid driver’s license and a high school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience operating process equipment is desirable
- Mechanical aptitude required to make adjustments and minor repairs to equipment and instrumentation
- Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing
- Proficiency in basic math
- MSHA knowledge preferred
- Ability to perform work with accuracy and attention to detail

This role is based in the Port of Los Angeles in the city of Wilmington, California. This historical site is one of the oldest operations in the Port of LA, some employees are third generation workers at this operation.
