Impala Canada is the owner and operator of the Lac des Iles Mine, located 90 minutes northwest of Thunder Bay, Ontario. In operation for 30 years, the LDI Mine is one of only two known pure palladium sources in North America. Palladium contributes to a cleaner global environment, with its leading use in catalytic converters that reduce harmful emissions from gas-powered and hybrid vehicles.
The LDI Mine features a unique, ore body and modern infrastructure, including underground and surface mining and milling operations. The LDI Mine is in Robinson-Superior Treaty territory, and the land on which we operate is the traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg and the Me´tis. · Ensure that safety is always the highest priority, and that you represent the company at the highest standards.
· Work in compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations for Mines and Mining Plants and all other government standards and regulations.
· Work in compliance with all company policies and procedures.
· Train co-workers/Peer trainers at the request of Senior Management.
· Train co-workers/Peer trainers with respect and patience, following company lesson plans and guidelines.
· Complete required job observations on trainees and also on experienced employees to ensure compliances with all procedurespolicies.
· Properly demonstrate necessary techniques, body position or stance and work practices associated with the task.
· Train only with equipment, gear, and tools, they are qualified and that are in good repair.
· Ensure through discussion and demonstration that the trainee understands their instructions & tasks.
· Observe the trainee performs the task and is satisfied they are competent with regards to module trained.
· Correct any mistakes, bad habits or attitude issues the trainee(s) may have made.
· Conduct underground orientations for all underground departments.
· Fill out and manage all pertinent documentation required for the training.
· Manages and audits all aspects of training department.
· Projects professional attitude as, first company contact during orientation process.
· Creates Power Point and lesson plans for training throughout the underground.
· Maintain a 100% commitment to Safety in daily activities.
· Enforce compliance with company policies and procedures.
· Ability to talk in front of groups and individuals on specified topics.
· Have good computer skills. WORD, Excel, Power Point etc....
· Possess Train the Trainer certification. Advanced Train the Trainer an asset.
· Aptitude for creating and maintaining a good work atmosphere and motivating the personnel under his supervision.
The position offers a competitive remuneration package consisting of base salary, health & medical insurance, retirement savings plan and travel allowance.
