Based at Young-Davidson Mine in Matachewan, ON, this will be a 7 days on / 7 days off (day & night) rotation opportunity.
The Underground Development Miners are responsible and accountable for the following:
- Adhering to all legislated mining regulations and performing the role safely; ensuring Health & Safety is the number one priority
- Following all procedures, policies and processes at the mine site and underground workplace
- Good comprehension when reading information and/or receiving verbal instructions as required to perform assigned duties in a safe and efficient manner
- Installing underground rock support (bolts and mesh)
- Installing mine services
- Operating various pieces of underground mining equipment Maclean Bolter, Jumbo and/or Jackleg and Stoper
- Mucking development round and loading trucks
- Performing underground construction related work
- Perform other related duties as required
- Minimum 3-5 years working full-time in an underground mine environment
- Experienced in installation of ground support using a jackleg & stoper, jumbo, maclean bolter
- Experience operating scooptrams, scissorlifts, and other underground equipment
- Shotcrete/concrete/construction experience would be considered an asset
- Slinging / rigging experience would be considered an asset
- Ontario Underground Common Core
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to lift and physically handle material up to 50lbs
- Able to work independently
- Ability to work within a fast-paced environment
- Dependable and able to commit to a 7 day on / 7 day off rotation
- Positive attitude and enjoys being a proactive member of a high performing team
- Residents of the Northern Ontario and candidates identifying as Indigenous are encouraged to apply
