Job Summary

Please note: This opening will be ONSITE - 5 days in office.

Responsible to the assigned supervisor for performing entry level engineering work activities and projects requiring the application of engineering knowledge in a safe, effective, efficient and economic accomplishment of assigned objectives.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Accurately model transmission system topology including impedance and facility ratings for lines, generators, and transformers for Medium, High, and Extra High Voltages using AEP-internal modeling database, PSS/E, and/or ASPEN One-liner. Fulfill various system modeling related requests from Engineering and Operations personnel and submitted via ServiceNow ticketing system. Collaborate with others internal/external to the team to model planned projects, build power flow, and short circuit model cases representing the future transmission system, as needed. Participating in the planning and organization of project work activities. Perform electrical transmission system analysis and protection system studies, as requested. Perform activities related to NERC Compliance standards. Apply problem solving skills to resolve technical problems and initiate solution techniques.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: ENGINEER ASSC(GRADE -5)

Salary Range: $61,647 - $77,057

This is an entry level position for new graduates with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET*; Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering examination in preparation for future licensing as a Professional Engineer (PE) is encouraged and preferred.

Basic Qualifications: Engineer (Grade 06)

Salary Range:$72,380- $90,474.

Has typically acquired 2 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET

License: Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico* is encouraged and preferred. Confirmation is required to ensure the PE obtained in Puerto Rico aligns with NCEES standards.

Basic Qualifications: Engineer (Grade 07)

Salary Range-$85,081- $106,353.

Has typically acquired 4 or more years of related engineering experience along with a Bachelor's degree in engineering in a program accredited by ABET; or 2 years of related engineering experience along with a Master’s degree in engineering from a program accredited by ABET; Individuals with a PhD in engineering from an engineering program accredited by ABET may be considered for entry into the organization at this level; Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico* is preferred.

License: Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) in any U.S. state or Puerto Rico* is encouraged and preferred. Confirmation is required to ensure the PE obtained in Puerto Rico aligns with NCEES standards.

Acceptable alternatives are:
