Position Summary
This position is responsible for the maintenance and support of PEC’s Energy Management Systems (EMS) Applications and its Network Operational Model. Supports System Operations with power flow and contingency analysis and emergency preparedness for a secure Transmission and Distribution Systems in the ERCOT grid. Provides analysis and technical support to ensure continuing reliable operations of the Transmission Operations in compliance with NERC standards, ERCOT protocols and guidelines.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
•Submits NOMCR’s to ERCOT for all the Transmission Model changes in accordance with NERC Standards and ERCOT Protocols and Guides.
•Update SCADA, ICCP and PSA models in the PEC EMS for Realtime Operational use.
•Update and Verify EMS Onelines diagrams for all Operations use.
•Update ITOA (Outage Scheduler) and PI (historian) models with the latest changes every week.
•Works with Transmission Planning, Engineering Planning, Substation Design, Substation Maintenance and SCADA tech teams for data integrity on all Operational Limits on Transmission equipment.
•Maintain EMS power system applications- Power flow, Contingency Analysis and troubleshoot for Operational issues.
•Works with Operators and Substation maintenance group for Planned outages and works as Outage coordinator.
•Monitor EMS, SCADA and ICCP data and applications for its accuracy and report for any discrepancies.
•Build and maintains PI historian data base and Pi- Server, Pi- DataLink and Pi vision.
•Works on PI historian to build dashboards and create analytics to help view data for Operators and support groups.

•Perform Administrator tasks for ITOA (Outage Tool) and other internally developed supporting tools for EMS.
•Maintain the security of confidential information

Supervisory and/or Leadership Responsibilities

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
•Experience with GE – Reliance XA or any EMS vendor suite of EMS applications.
•Experience with Data Historians such as OSIsoft PI
•Experience with Databases and basic quires with PL/SQL
•Experience with programming languages such as VB, FORTRAN, C, C++, Java & Perl
•Experience with Linux and windows servers and its basic support.
•Knowledge of using computer systems, which may include setting up and using hardware and software programs, entering data, configuration, or processing information.
•Knowledge of technical presentations and reporting
•Skilled in prioritizing and managing changing priorities.
•Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
•Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Minimum Qualifications - (Education, Experience)
•Bachelor’s Degree in a related engineering field
•Five years of related work experience
•NERC System Operator Certification preferred
•Texas PE license preferred
•Valid Texas Driver’s License
