Position Summary
As a Transmission Manager within our System Protection Standards and Studies team, you’re responsible for the design, maintenance, and support of standard protection and control designs used throughout Oncor’s transmission and distribution stations. The development of well designed, flexible, robust protection and control infrastructure is essential to meet current and future challenges of our changing Power system. As part of our team, you’ll take a lead role in the research and development of new protection and control technologies, development of standard Protection and Control (P&C) designs, documentation, and training.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Scope and direct the development and maintenance of P&C standard design projects and supporting documentation to ensure adherence to current System Protection Philosophies.
- Provide training and guidance on our System Protection standards for both engineering and operations.
- Maintain a leading edge on understanding of developments, industry best practices, and ensure compliance with P&C systems safety and regulatory requirement standards and protocols.
- Guide, implement, review, and coordinate projects for proposed implementation of new products and technologies.
- Support root cause analysis of relay system operations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to translate complex issues into clear and concise concepts, and draw conclusions.
- Possess strong communication skills to influence changes and effectively work across disciplines and functions to achieve common goals and company business purposes.
- Quickly learn to set priorities and directing work efforts without having full project requirements known.
- Must be flexible, have organizational skills, and multi-task skills to handle diverse types of work.- High School diploma, GED or equivalent and 6+ years of experience in System Protection, Engineering, Operations, Planning, or similar function required.
- Applicants with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering are encouraged to apply.

- Ability to effectively manage projects/tasks thoroughly from inception to completion with on-time delivery, full ownership, high quality, and standards adherence.
