Title: Transmission & Interconnection Engineer
We are seeking a Transmission & Interconnection Engineer to enhance our grid connection efforts in support of all East Point activities across a growing portfolio of battery energy storage projects. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical expertise, effective project management skills, and a drive for enabling successful grid integration.
Roles & Responsibilities:
•Develop and manage technical strategies for identifying points of interconnection aligned with portfolio strategy and submitting interconnection requests to utilities and RTOs/ISOs
•Serve as a point of contact for interconnection-related activities with utilities, RTOs/ISOs, and service providers
•Support the negotiation and execution of interconnection agreements and related documentation
•Coordinate with the Development Engineering team to track and communicate interconnection statuses, study milestones, costs, and capital exposure risks
•Analyze interconnection queues and transmission planning data to inform site selection and project viability
•Lead and manage a network of consultants and internal protocols for evaluating interconnection study results and cost estimates
•Support with potential to lead the evaluation of available capacity, required upgrades, and estimated interconnection costs throughout the development lifecycle
•Monitor and communicate key transmission upgrades and tariff changes in target markets
•Provide support across all East Point teams on various Interconnection related project activities
•Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned
Skills:
•Proficiency with power system modeling tools such as PSSE, PowerWorld and/or TARA
•Strong understanding of RTO/ISO and utility tariffs, business practices, and interconnection procedures
•Ability to synthesize complex technical data into actionable insights
•Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills
•Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across a dynamic portfolio

Education & Experience:
•4-year university degree in electrical engineering required, master’s degree with a focus on power system planning is preferred
•2+ years of experience in transmission planning and generator interconnection with a strong interest in utility scale BESS
Travel & Time Commitment:
•Limited travel related to company events and potential conferences
•This is a full-time, exempt salaried position. Standard office hours are from 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM EST. The demands of projects may require work outside of these times.
