Job Summary: Instruction of inexperienced miner students in classroom and underground mining settings. Conduct training in an engaging manner to help miners gain on-the-job skills to promote safety and health in the workplace.
Job duties for this position will require underground instruction for new miners. A significant portion of the responsibilities for this position will require underground training capability (up to 75% underground time).
2. Underground skill training and instruction at the job site.
4. Update existing training courses as needed to keep pace with technology and regulatory requirements.
+ Prepare and update materials. + Classroom instruction of Part 48 training classes as assigned.
4. Thorough knowledge of basic mining practices and general labor skills:
(track work, utilities, timbering, conveyor belts, ventilation controls, etc.)
5. Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office/SharePoint. Must have ability to create, edit, and present
PowerPoint presentations and store classroom materials in digital library. Update training material as needed
7. Enthusiastic training style and capable of performing work in a systematic and detail-oriented manner.
8. Alabama Mine Foreman/Fireboss Certification or obtain at the next available training opportunity.
+ This position requires interpersonal skills when regularly interacting with students, safety team, mine management, MSHA, and third-party technical support.
