Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Traffic Controller to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of vehicles and pedestrians in construction zones and road work areas. This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various teams.
Duties
•
Direct traffic flow in construction zones to ensure safety for workers and the public.
•
Set up and maintain traffic control devices, including cones, signs, and barriers.
•
Monitor traffic patterns and adjust controls as necessary to minimize congestion.
•
Communicate effectively with construction crews, drivers, and pedestrians.
•
Assist in utility locating activities to prevent damage during excavation.
•
Operate heavy machinery as needed, including bulldozers, front loaders, dump trucks, graders, and backhoes.
•
Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols at all times.
•
Participate in site inspections and report any hazards or issues promptly.
Qualifications
•
Proven experience in traffic control or a related field is preferred.
•
Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
•
Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
•
Knowledge of paving techniques and utility locating practices is a plus.
•
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
•
Attention to detail with a focus on safety procedures.
•
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
•
A valid driver's license required.
•
Flagger certification is preferred but not required.
•
Must have reliable transportation.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
