We are seeking a highly organized and hands-on Tool Room / Maintenance Supervisor to oversee our tooling inventory, machine maintenance, and general upkeep of equipment in our fabrication facility. This role ensures the efficient, safe, and timely availability of tools and machinery, supporting our production teams and maintaining high operational standards.
· Maintain and manage an organized tool room for all fabrication tooling and equipment.
· Issue, track, and receive tools and dies to/from production staff.
· Schedule tool inspections, sharpening, calibration, and replacements.
· Maintain inventory records using CMMS or Excel/database tools.
· Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves or bins according to predetermined sequences such as size type, style, or color according to 5S standards
· Collaborate with engineering and production to ensure tools meet quality standards.
· Oversee and coordinate preventative and corrective maintenance on fabrication equipment (e.g., CNC machines, welders, presses, saws).
· Develop and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule.
· Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and regulatory standards.
· Supervise a small team of maintenance technicians and/or tool room attendants.
· Assign daily tasks and ensure work is completed efficiently and accurately.
· Train staff in tool handling, machine maintenance, and safety protocols.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
· Ensure all tools and machines are in safe operating condition.
· Document safety checks, tool calibrations, and maintenance logs.
· High school diploma or equivalent (Technical certification preferred).
· 5+ years experience in a manufacturing/fabrication environment.
· 2+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
· Strong understanding of mechanical systems, machine tools, and fabrication equipment.
· Familiarity with hydraulic systems and pneumatic systems.
· Ability to read blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics.
· Experience with lean manufacturing or 5S principles.
· Manufacturing floor environment; may require standing for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
· Exposure to noise, dust, and machine hazards (PPE provided).
