Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Tool Maker to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for developing and executing machining strategies, programming CNC equipment, and producing high-quality match-plate patterns from aluminum billet. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in CAD/CAM software and a hands-on approach to fixture design and tool management.
Key Responsibilities
CNC Programming & Operation
- Develop machining strategies for match-plate pattern construction using aluminum billet.
- Program and operate CNC machines to ensure precision and efficiency.
- Design, build, and modify machining and grinding fixtures using CAD (SolidWorks) and CAM (Mastercam).
- Ensure all tooling meets dimensional and performance specifications.
- Manage the requisition, organization, and maintenance of cutting tools and machining/grinding fixtures.
- Maintain accurate inventory and documentation of tooling assets.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to ensure tooling supports manufacturing goals.
- Employment Conditions: Must successfully pass a drug screen and background check. Commitment to comply with all organizational and departmental policies, including maintaining a smoke and tobacco-free environment.
- Proven experience in CNC programming and operation.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and Mastercam.
- Strong understanding of machining processes and fixture design.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Educational Background: Associate’s degree (or higher) in CNC Machining, Engineering, or a related field.
- Salary Range: $75,000 to $90,000
