The Thermal Reduction Operator will run multiple furnaces and perform a variety of tasks in our high-volume processing facility.
Must be capable of learning and understanding how to do the following:
Material handling of waste materials using proper PPE and tools, as well as understanding which safety procedures to follow with specific waste materials.
Material handling of pallets, drums, pans, racks, etc. using a forklift.
Unload and load roller conveyors.
Weigh materials using an industrial scale and label printers.
Perform math calculations using a calculator.
Proficient in completing necessary production paperwork.
Keep various customers material organized and separated from other customers products.
Perform all necessary cleaning requirements such as sweeping, mopping, etc.
Maintain all required tools and organize in their assigned places.
Operate computer screens and understanding basic operations and measurements such as temperature, pressure, flow, motors or blowers operating.
Perform and comprehend basic or minor maintenance functions such as greasing bearings and changing both liquid and air filters.
Use basic maintenance tools such as box wrenches, socket wrenches, pipe wrenches, strap wrenches, etc.
Read and understand production schedules.
Make adjustments on a computer screen to increase and decrease temperature.
Must climb ladders to check monitors and gauges.
Must be capable of learning critical component of a material from a profile or MSDS.
Pushing, pulling of drums and equipment which could weigh in excess of 100 lbs. Lifting up to 50 lbs., bending and stretching.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Schedule: The employees assigned shift will be annotated in the ADP Payroll System. Employees may be required to work any shift, including evening, weekend or holiday shifts, as needed by the Company. Any modifications to the employee's schedule will be communicated by the Manager. This is a full-time position, but some overtime work may be required.
RCRA: This position will require interaction with hazardous waste. Metallix promotes a culture of safety and is committed to taking all steps necessary to ensure a safe and healthy working environment. This position requires that the following duties be carried out in accordance with state and federal safety requirements and related Metallix policies:
- Handle hazardous waste at Satellite Accumulation Areas;
- Transport hazardous waste to Central Accumulation Area;
- Participate in annual RCRA hazardous waste training.
Be a “U.S. person” pursuant to section 120.15 of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Mechanical capability is highly desired. Heat treating, furnace, or plumbing experience is a plus.
