WHO ARE WE? AN INTRODUCTION

GVEA is an electric cooperative which maintains 3,292 miles of transmission and distribution lines, 40 substations, and 9 generating facilities. Our system is interconnected with Fort Wainwright, Eielson AFB, Fort Greely, the University of Alaska-Fairbanks, and all of the electric utilities in the Alaska Railbelt, extending from Homer to Fairbanks. Powering the Interior of Alaska, GVEA contributes to the economic, environmental, and social viability of our communities.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS A TEMPORARY LABORER (8 WEEKS)

As a Temporary Laborer (8 weeks) at Golden Valley Electric Association, you will play a vital role in ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our coal power station and shop equipment. Your responsibilities will include daily cleaning tasks to uphold safety and operational standards, as well as addressing the contractor trailers and performing yard cleanup. This position is essential to maintaining an organized and efficient workspace, contributing to a safe environment for all employees. With your diligent efforts, you will help promote the values of our energetic and forward-thinking culture, making a direct impact on daily operations at our facility.

ARE YOU THE TEMPORARY LABORER (8 WEEKS) WE'RE LOOKING FOR?

To thrive as a Temporary Laborer (8 weeks) at Golden Valley Electric Association, you should possess a solid foundation as a high school graduate or the equivalent. A key skill for this role is experience in the basic operation of janitorial equipment, as you will be responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of our coal power station and shop. Attention to detail is essential, ensuring that all areas, including contractor trailers and the yard, are kept clean and orderly. Additionally, effective time management skills will enable you to complete tasks efficiently while maintaining high safety and cleanliness standards.
