POSITION DESCRIPTION
Operates hand tools, does general construction labor tasks, weed burning and spraying. Perform general maintenance utilizing equipment such as winches, trucks, dump trucks, farm tractors, mowers, pumps, compressors, air equipment, earth tampers, and other similar associated equipment.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
•
High school degree or equivalent education
•
Maintain a valid Nebraska driver’s license with appropriate and a responsible driving record
•
Able to obtain appropriate chemical application certification (such as aquatic herbicides)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
•
Safely operate hand tools when assisting with construction or maintenance work
•
Burning weeds along the canals
•
Responsible for mowing and spraying
•
General custodial work
•
Responsible for safe operation and maintenance of winches, trucks, dump trucks, farm tractors, mowers, pumps, compressors, and air equipment, earth tampers and other similar equipment.
•
Report usage hours for equipment along with materials and fuel used
•
Be available for call outs
•
Perform other duties as assigned

•
Within 40 miles of employee’s base
WORK ENVIRONMENT
•
Natural work hazards associated with working around water, equipment, excavations and field construction
•
Occasional unusual working hours primarily due to emergencies
•
Mild work stress associated with time pressures, emergency situations, and/or changes in work priorities
•
Occasional uncontrollable interruptions and distractions to planned work
•
On-call status during off hours, holidays and weekends
•
Strong physical, emotional, and mental stamina required to work long hours under harsh working conditions
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $18.16 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 28 per week
