Reporting to the Maintenance Area Lead, the Electrical Technician role will work in close collaboration with operating technicians, all Maintenance personnel, and the NWR engineering and reliability teams in operating and maintaining NWR’s electrical equipment.
- Understands, creates and maintains a visible commitment to process and personal safety, as well as the safety of others; adheres to NWR’s Core Competencies to drive results and a high performing culture;
- Electrical Journeymen with Red Seal certification;
- 10+ years of industrial electrical maintenance experience; High voltage and refinery experience preferred.- Industrial communication experience preferred (e.g. Modbus TCP/IP, SCADA, GOOSE, MMS). Experience on network switches, PLCs, servers, Wireshark (network troubleshooting) is desirable;
- Must be a self-starter with proven ability to make comprehensive decisions;
- Ability to read and interpret engineering and vendor drawings including OEM manuals, isometric and blue prints;
- Excellent communications both in verbal and written format to establish clear goals and manage desired outcomes;
- Ability to coach, develop and mentor others; strong leadership skill:
- Must be comfortable working in a field environment.
- Provides plant support during run and maintain and turnaround phases of the refinery;
- Ensures that all electrical equipment maintenance, troubleshooting and repair activities are carried out in a planned, efficient, and safe manner following NWR practices and policies;
- Perform inspections, execute preventive maintenance tasks and identify continuous improvement opportunities;
- Prepares electrical equipment for inspection, cleaning, repair and re-install;
- Support maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution activities. Work alongside other trades;
- Supports turnaround planning, scheduling and execution activities; Field lead role during turnaround;
- Leads and assures that proper safety practices are followed, uses personal protective gear, barricades, warning signs and devices to protect others;
- Developing and validation of procedures;
- Participates in and provides on the job training and competency assessments;
- Ensures regulatory compliance for electrical equipment is maintained;
- Spare parts recommendations Supports the Maintenance team by providing input into Equipment Asset Care Plan strategy;
- All other duties as assigned.
