In this unionized position of Technician, Distribution Operations, you will play an essential role within our Operations Team. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Efficiently operating and maintaining natural gas pipeline systems;
- Ensuring all required documentation is completed on time as required by regulations;
- Responding to natural gas related emergencies;
- Performing construction tasks as per policies and procedures; and
- Representing the Company to customers and the public.
- High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Gas Utilities Operator course;
- Three years in a related field, of which one year involves performing the operations functions of a natural gas utility;
- Valid Province of Alberta Class 5 driver’s license;
- A clean driver's abstract is also required for this position; and
- Ability to perform all necessary physical requirements
Note: The successful candidate will be required to live within 30 minutes driving time from our Morinville District Office to respond to natural gas related emergencies.
- Mechanical aptitude and dexterity when using tools, equipment, and instruments;
- Good communication skills, decision making skills and a strong work ethic;
- Ability to establish good working relationships and provide excellent customer service;
- Proficiency working with various computer software systems including Microsoft Office suite;
- Good judgment and maintain motivation and performance when working independently and;
- Safe work habits and adherence to safety regulation.
