Job Overview
The Technical Proposals Manager position is an internal- and external-customer interfacing member of the Cooper sales team responsible for developing in-depth turn-key technical proposals and selling major emissions and reliability upgrades projects.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The Technical Proposals Manager will be responsible for the following:
- Work together with Cooper’s outside sales team to recommend Cooper innovations & technological solutions to address customer ESG, automation and reliability requirements and improve operational performance
- Work with Cooper’s engineering team to develop detailed turn-key technical proposals to sell Cooper’s suite of upgrades
- Perform site walks at customer locations to support proposal development and troubleshoot operational issues
- Provide technical support to sales team and manage relationships with existing customers
- Other duties as assigned
- Travel ~20% of the time
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college preferred
- Minimum High School diploma or GED from an accredited school or institution with at least 7 years of experience in sales, engineering or commercial proposal development
- Strong knowledge of combustion, emissions and performance standards of reciprocating engines
- Basic understanding of contract structures
- Ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships with customers
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) and SAP
