Benmet Steel & Metal is a leader in the Canadian scrap and recycling industry located in Guelph, Stratford and Owen Sound, Ontario. We are one of the most established and reputable independent scrap metal processors in Ontario. We are looking for motivated individuals to join our growing team.

What you’ll do…

Our Team members are the heart and soul of our yard. They are responsible for grading and sorting material, in addition to assisting customers with unloading or material inquiries. We are looking for a hard-working team member to add to our team and be a in our service delivery, operations, and growth. You will report directly to the Operations Manager and play a leading role in day-to-day operations.

Job Description

- Sorting of various types of scrap metal, both non-ferrous and ferrous, for preparation to recycle

- Grading of incoming material

- Use of two-way radios

- Build relationships with customers who come into the yard

- Ability to work safely and independently

- Safe and efficient use of various hand and power tools

- Maintain cleanliness of sorting areas

- Work outside in a variety of weather conditions

Requirements

- 3 months experience working in an industrial setting

- 1 year experience working in an industrial setting is an asset
