POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the general direction of the Supervisor of Scheduling and Customer Coordination, the Scheduler is responsible for the coordination, scheduling and optimization of resources utilized for Versant Power's service and construction-related projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Develop a schedule for line work within a specific geographic area. The work will include at a minimum: internal capital, customer capital, service orders, hazardous conditions, damage plant, temporary repairs, power quality upgrades and back-logged work not completed.
•Create a continuous two-week schedule of work coordinated with a monthly, quarterly and annual work-plan. This schedule of work will include an estimate for employee hours available to schedule and complete work.
•Determine resource availability of the District Line crews by tracking vacations, personal time, call duty, meetings, training, employee reviews and other factors.
•Maintain an inventory of current work based on target dates for completion.
•Lead a weekly District scheduling meeting to review and make adjustments to the schedule.
•Monitor CU and other systems to determine where work requirements need to be scheduled and executed.
•Communicate with other departments including Customer Coordination, Planning and Capital Work Planning and Execution to ensure knowledge of the available workload, job readiness and resource availability.
•Ensure that any specialized requirements to complete the scheduled work are in place. This includes tracked equipment, flaggers, tagging requirements, and stock materials.
•Work closely with the Fleet Department to proactively manage vehicle maintenance needs and build this into the schedule
•Ensure all completed work has the required information submitted back from the line-crew. This includes cost information, red line drawing markup, GIS updates, quality check-sheets, and Smartsheet updates.
•Process completed work for closeout (field complete)
•Reconcile any discrepancy between the assets that were installed (or removed) and what the planned job called for.
•Ensure change orders are completed in advance of necessary work completion for all jobs that require it.
•Takes initiative to identify problems and issues and seeks solutions through collaborative efforts.
•Maintain metrics on District work efficiency and report as required.
•Provide assistance to the District Supervisor, as requested. Examples include timecard entry, monthly truck hours, fleet status, contact for contractor service, and meeting preparation.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Works in accordance with the documented environmental procedures, instructions, and specific responsibilities as defined in individual procedures and instructions. Reports problems or deviations associated with environmental issues and the Environmental Management System (EMS) to the Environmental Department.
•Performs other related duties as assigned, including designated duties associated with System Restoration.
REQUIRED OR PREFERRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•Minimum of five years’ experience in electric transmission and distribution construction, maintenance and operations.
•Practical knowledge of electric transmission and distribution construction and maintenance practices required.
•Familiarity with work management systems is preferred.
•Knowledge of or the requirement to learn and be competent of Versant Powers GIS system, PowerOn and Microsoft Office Suite required.
•Ability to work without direct supervision and maintain a high level of motivation is required.
•Must demonstrate analytical skills, problem solving, and decision-making skills; good oral communication and attention to detail required.

WORK HOURS:
FULL TIME: 40 hours per week. Position requires irregular work hours from time to time, including nights and weekends as needed.
PAY:
•Pay will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
