Position Summary
The Tax Analyst provides support to the tax department related to the preparation of federal and state income tax returns, preparation of all types of indirect tax returns, general tax compliance, research, and income tax accounting.
Primary/Essential Responsibilities and Duties
• Collects data necessary to prepare federal, state & local tax returns
• Assists with the preparation of federal and state corporate income tax returns and tax provision calculations
• Gathers data and prepares indirect tax returns for state and local jurisdictions
• Assist in the preparation of various other compliance requirements
• Assists with tax audits; responds to requests from internal and external auditors
• Reviews and tracks routine inquiries and assessment notices
• Research and documents routine tax issues
• Interpret and comply with state, local, and international statutes, regulations, and legislation
• Assists with tax account reconciliations
• Compiles information needed to respond to tax agencies
• Ensures that internal policies and controls are being followed
• Maintains tax files and calendar
• Suggest process improvements
Required Skills and Qualifications
• Associate degree in finance, accounting, or related discipline; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• A minimum of 3 years corporate tax experience
• Ability to understand and apply complex tax rules
• Working knowledge of Federal and state tax compliance rules and regulatory reporting requirements
• Experience assisting with tax audits and working with auditors
• Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills; detail-oriented
• Ability to perform with a high level of discretion and integrity
• Strong planning and organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines
• Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
• Computer proficiency in tax software and Microsoft Office suite with advanced Excel skills

• Works in an office environment
• Frequently sits for long periods of time
• Frequently speaks, reads, writes, and uses a computer keyboard
• May require occasional standing, walking, lifting, stooping, or bending
