The Opportunity JOB DESCRIPTION
Make your mark while you grow your career! Canadian Natural boasts one of the largest in-house Information Systems (IS) departments in Calgary. Supporting over 10,000 staff globally in our corporate, field and overseas offices, the IS department is engaged in a variety of N-tier application and IS projects. As the Systems Analyst, you are responsible for the analysis, design and building of systems through the development of application logic, user interfaces, data interfaces, data conversion scripts and reports. Your primary responsibility will be supporting our mission critical incident and change management system (BMC Helix (Remedy)) and defining the future state of the system.

- Develop requirements and estimates of effort for design of new, and/or modification to existing, application components, and analyze, design and develop applications, interfaces, and data scripts
- Manage multiple tasks at the same time with high levels of productivity and effectiveness such as troubleshooting and repairing problems that occur in the everyday use of an application
- Demonstrate the ability to handle complex work and to provide guidance to Developers
- Develop and maintain functional/technical specifications and documentation, manage and justify license purchases and renewals, and manage requests and work backlogs
- 3-10 years of previous experience in a Developer or Developer Analyst role
- Demonstrated proficiency with analysis, design and development of modern single page applications/progressive web applications and N-tier environments
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming preferably using C#
- Experience with REST APIs, Entity Framework Core or other ORM framework, Microsoft Blazor or other similar SPA framework and design patterns like unit of work and repository pattern
- Familiarity with ASP.NET core, Infragistics components, Visual Studio, git, Azure DevOps, BMC Helix (Remedy), ServiceNow, Kubernetes or OpenShift containers, Microsoft SSRS and PowerBI, SQL and PL/SQL
