Surveyor

OVERALL JOB PURPOSE: Routine placement of survey sights underground and on the surface.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Conduct underground check survey on an as needed basis

- Assist with the layout, design and installation of various construction activities (both underground and surface)

- Interface daily with underground supervisors

- Conduct surface surveying activities as required. This work will include subsidence surveys, property/permit area boundary descriptions, support for exploration activities and targeting for aerial surveys.

- Prepare and maintain all relevant files, drawings, records, etc. necessary to document all surveying activities

PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

- One plus years' experience in underground coal mining

- One plus years surveying experience (surface and/or underground)

- Familiarity with total station/data collector survey instruments

- A solid knowledge of surveying fundamentals and calculation techniques

- Computer literate (AutoCAD, Excel, Word) a plus but not required

- Longwall surveying experience preferred

- Excellent organizational and planning skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28.00 - $35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 45 – 55 per week
