Job Title: Surface Grinding Department: Manufacturing Location: On-site (E2E Mfg) Reports to: Operations Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tool and Die Maker with expertise in tight tolerance surface grinding, manual milling, and manual lathe operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong tool and die making skills and have the ability to work with precision to create, modify, and repair tooling, dies, and machine parts. This role requires a deep understanding of machining processes, material properties, and the ability to work to tight tolerances.

Key Responsibilities:

•

Design, build, repair, and maintain precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.

•

Work from blueprints, CAD models, sketches, and verbal instructions to produce high-precision components.

•

Conduct troubleshooting and adjustments to tools and dies to ensure proper fit, function, and longevity.

•

Surface Grinding

•

Perform tight tolerance surface grinding on components, ensuring high levels of precision and surface finish.

•

Set up and operate surface grinders to achieve the required flatness, parallelism, and surface texture.

•

Inspect and measure finished parts to ensure they meet tight tolerances.

•

Manual Mill & Lathe Operations

•

Operate manual mills and lathes to machine parts, tools, and dies to required specifications.

•

Set up and adjust machinery for optimal performance, selecting the appropriate tools and speeds.

•

Perform manual machining operations with a high degree of precision and attention to detail.

•

Quality Assurance

•

Inspect parts and assemblies to ensure compliance with specifications and tolerances.

•

Work closely with the quality control team to identify and address any defects or non-conformances in tooling or parts.

•

Maintenance & Repair

•

Perform routine maintenance on tooling and dies, ensuring they remain in good working condition.

•

Sharpen and recondition tools as needed to maintain performance and longevity.

•

Collaboration & Communication

•

Work closely with engineers, machinists, and production teams to resolve tooling issues and improve manufacturing processes.

•

Provide input on tooling design improvements and modifications to increase efficiency and reduce scrap.

Qualifications:

•

Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker with strong skills in surface grinding, manual mill, and manual lathe operations.

•

Extensive experience working with tight tolerances and precision machining.

•

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD models, and technical drawings.

•

Strong understanding of material properties, tooling design, and machining processes.

•

Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

•

Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

•

Familiarity with machine shop safety practices and protocols.

Education and Experience:

•

High school diploma or GED required.

•

Technical certification in tool and die making, machining, or a related field preferred.

•

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker, with expertise in surface grinding and manual machining.

Working Conditions:

•

Full-time, on-site position with occasional overtime as required.

•

Exposure to a manufacturing environment with machine noise, metalworking fluids, and safety protocols in place.

•

Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
