Responsible for preparation and implementation of reactor disassembly / reassembly, dry cask campaigns, fuel handling equipment maintenance and other assigned work. Provides direct supervision of technicians and vendor personnel performing refuel floor activities during on-line and outage periods.
Supervisory Responsibility — Must have or be able to receive TVA supervisory qualifications to oversee and direct TVA and supplemental employees.
Provides work direction for craft performance of assigned work activities.
Ensures adherence to standards and procedures to achieve quality results.
Responsible for conducting observations, communicating and enforcing job expectations and providing coaching and feedback.
Responsible for the assigned crew and fosters a safety culture that focuses on planning and safe execution of all activities through verification of training, qualifications, schedule implementation and conduct of pre-job briefs.
Ensures housekeeping and material condition standards are met.
Maintains Work Orders and associated documents to ensure accuracy
Coordinates and interfaces with other groups such as Radiation Protection, Operations, Maintenance to ensure appropriate support is available.
Ensures critical information is provided to involved departments when issues arise in a timely manner.
Participates in schedule reviews for outage reactor services related work scope.
Challenges work scope, processes, parts, services, and schedules for outage reactor services related work.
Education – High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience – Six to eight years of experience in the nuclear industry including five years related to refuel floor maintenance. Background in nuclear reactor disassembly / reassembly and dry cask storage maintenance activities desired.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities - Must be able to obtain and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access. Must be able to travel 25 to 45 percent of the time in support of the TVA fleet.
