Job Summary:
The Supervisor, Financial Reporting is responsible for overseeing the preparation and consolidation of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and company policies. The role involves coordinating with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, supporting audit processes, and contributing to the continuous improvement of reporting procedures.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Manages 1-2 staff members.
•Leads the monthly financial consolidation process, including preparation of consolidated roll forwards, reconciliations (e.g., equity, investments, non-controlling interest, related party) and the consolidated statement of cash flows. Ensures accuracy and completeness of consolidation entries and intercompany eliminations.
•Reviews the financial reporting of various joint ventures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with relevant accounting policies.
•Oversees the preparation and ongoing maintenance of the internal management reporting book, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery to senior leadership.
•Prepares and maintains comprehensive workpapers supporting the financial statements, footnotes, and Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A).
•Researches and prepares detailed variance analyses for key financial statement line items, identifying and explaining significant fluctuations and trends.
•Calculates and supports all non-GAAP performance metrics, including Adjusted EBITDA, Distributable Cash Flow and Free Cash Flow.
•Coordinates with internal departments to gather data required for quarterly and annual financial statement disclosures.
•Researches and interprets U.S. GAAP and other applicable accounting guidance to draft accurate and compliant financial statement disclosures.
•Assumes a key role in the ongoing enhancements of our financial reporting system.
•Supports investor relations activities, including review of earnings releases, investor presentations and ad-hoc financial analyses.
•Collaborates with external auditors during quarterly reviews and annual audits by providing necessary schedules and explanations.
•Handles ad-hoc financial reporting projects and responds to special information requests as needed.
•Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial statement preparation for both public and private entities.
•Hands-on experience with consolidations and financial reporting, preferably involving multiple entities or business units.
•Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with SAP ERP, OneStream and Workiva is highly preferred.
•Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
•Strong analytical abilities.
•Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of meeting tight deadlines in a dynamic environment.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effectively managing deadlines and collaborating across teams.
Education and Experience:
•Accounting or finance degree required
•4+ years of relevant work experience; experience in public accounting and/or financial reporting in the energy or midstream sector is a plus
Certifications:
•Certified Public Accountant strongly preferred
Physical Demands and Hazards for Office Employees:
