Primary Purpose:
Ensure all district facilities remain in full compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations through proactive inspections, rigorous monitoring, precise documentation, and corrective action management. The Environmental Compliance Supervisor leads compliance initiatives, manages inspection schedules, maintains regulatory documentation, and supports audits and reporting for local, state, and federal requirements.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
•High School diploma or GED required
•Valid Texas driver’s license
•TASBO Certification preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
•Proficiency in typing, keyboarding, and file management.
•Strong knowledge of English usage, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
•Competence in using personal computers and software for developing spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
•Ability to maintain composure, patience, and organizational control in a dynamic, high-priority environment with frequent interruptions.
•Capacity to work extended periods on a computer while managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
•Familiarity with basic accounting principles.
Experience:
•Lead district-wide environmental inspections, including asbestos management, life-safety systems, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), boiler systems, backflow devices, retention ponds, and SDS programs.
•Monitor and interpret regulatory updates to ensure continued alignment with local, state, and federal standards.
•Coordinate and prepare documentation for regulatory inspections, audits, and certifications.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Regulatory Compliance Oversight:
•Lead district-wide environmental inspections, including asbestos management, life safety systems, Integrated Pest Management (IPM), boiler systems, backflow devices, retention ponds, and SDS programs.
•Monitor and interpret regulatory updates to ensure continued alignment with local, state, and federal standards.
•Coordinate and prepare documentation for regulatory inspections, audits, and certifications.
Inspection and Correction Management:
•Schedule and complete regular facility inspections to identify compliance risks.
•Document inspection findings, recommend corrective actions, and oversee remediation efforts to ensure timely resolution.
•Maintain an inspection calendar and ensure all compliance activities are completed within required timeframes.
Records and Reporting:
•Maintain comprehensive and organized compliance records, including inspection logs, maintenance reports, regulatory permits, and audit documentation.
•Generate and present compliance status reports to departmental leadership.
•Prepare required reports for submission to regulatory agencies as needed.
Staff Training and Oversight:
•Supervise compliance activities of assigned staff, including the Building Systems Specialist and IPM Coordinator.
•Train maintenance and operations staff on inspection procedures, compliance standards, and documentation protocols.
•Conduct refresher training on regulatory changes and internal procedures.
Safety Assurance:
•Ensure all compliance activities prioritize safety and regulatory adherence.
•Identify and immediately report or mitigate unsafe conditions.
•Promote a culture of compliance and continuous improvement across the department.
Other:
•Support emergency responses requiring environmental or regulatory assessment.
•May coordinate external contractor activities related to compliance work.
•Perform additional duties as assigned with a strong emphasis on confidentiality and
accuracy.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct supervision of Building Systems Specialist and IPM Coordinator
Oversight of staff involved in compliance inspections and reporting activities
Licenses:
Class "C" Operator's Driver's License. The applicant selected must provide a current three-year Driving Record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, must obtain a Texas Driver's License within 30 days after entering Texas as a new resident.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals
Posture: Prolonged sitting. Occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling and twisting
Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of a mouse
Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying; Load and operate computers, servers, storage and other equipment.
Environment: Work is performed in an office setting; may require occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours and frequent travel to district facilities. This position may have voluntary and/or required working hours during evenings and/or weekends. Work hours will generally be 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM.
Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress. Regular handling of inspection equipment and compliance documentation. Reading, ability to communicate effectively (verbally and in writing).
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.50 - $40.18 per hour
