Sub-Arc Welder – Structural Pipe – Night Shift

Location: Houston, Texas

Shift: Night Shift

We're looking for a skilled Sub-Arc Welder to join a team that takes pride in building heavy-duty structural pipe and pressure vessels that stand the test of time. If you're a detail-oriented welder with a steady hand and a passion for precision, we want to hear from you.

You’ll operate semi-automatic submerged arc welding machines to produce long-seam and girth-seam welds on large diameter shells. You’ll work in a safety-first environment with supervisors who’ve walked in your boots.

What You’ll Be Doing:

- Operate sub-arc welding machines to weld long- and girth-seams on structural pipe and pressure vessel shells

- Prepare welds per specifications: bevel prep, cleanliness, temperature checks, consumable setup

- Execute precise welds following established AWS/ASME procedures

- Perform arc-gouging and grinding as needed

- Conduct visual inspections and ensure welds meet quality standards

- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized welding area

- Use appropriate PPE and follow all safety protocols

What You Bring:

- Proven experience with sub-arc welding equipment

- Ability to pass a 1G sub-arc weld test on long-seams or girth-seams

- Strong understanding of AWS and ASME standards

- Experience with structural pipe or pressure vessel welding preferred

- Familiarity with arc-gouging, grinders, and air chisels

- Commitment to safety, precision, and continuous improvement

Physical Requirements:

- Able to lift up to 50 lbs

- Able to stand, crouch, and operate equipment at heights

- Comfortable working indoors or outdoors in various climates
