About Us

Key Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mill. The uranium milled at Key Lake is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future.

The Role

The Student, Lab Technologist positions resides in the Key Lake Chem Lab, under technical services and directly reports to the laboratory supervisor. The successful candidate will work a term of approximately four or eight months beginning in May 2026.

In this role, you will:

- Be responsible for day-to-day analysis of laboratory samples by wet chemistry and instrumental methods.

- Participate in quality assurance and quality control activities within the lab operation and assist with corrective and preventative action planning and implementation.

- Perform basic maintenance of analytical instrumentation in the lab and work on daily operational and data analysis.

Required:

- You will be entering your third or fourth year as university student in chemistry, or your second year as a chemical technology student

- Effective communication, analytical and interpersonal skills

- Demonstrate resolute attitude towards safety

- Coachable, open to feedback and a team player

- Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft

- You must be returning to school for the academic semester following your work term with Cameco

Recommended:

- Experience or familiar with XRF, ICP-OES, ICP-MS, GC, and other analytical instrumentation

- Experience or familiar with Microsoft Suite and SAP LIMS
