As a student in the Conventional Asset Development team, you will contribute to building and maintaining economic models that support strategic decision-making across a diverse portfolio of assets. Your work will involve evaluating development scenarios, optimizing capital allocation, and assessing risk-return trade-offs, while also supporting engineering tasks. You'll also play a key role in preparing clear, insightful analysis and recommendations.

What you’ll do

- Build and maintain economic models to evaluate scenarios, run sensitivities, and quantify trade-offs

- Perform portfolio analysis to prioritize opportunities, optimize capital, and assess risk/return

- Complete discrete development economics for new and brownfield opportunities

- Lead efforts to formalize guidance and governance for Asset Model and Portfolio updates

- Assist with development engineering tasks focused on asset area optimization

- Prepare clear analysis presentations and decision materials summarizing economics, risks, and recommendations

Who you are

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

- Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)

- Available to begin work in January 2026

- Results oriented with strong ownership

- Critical thinking and data literacy

- Collaboration and clear communication

- Integrity, accountability, and continuous improvement

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, & Word)

- Skills with Enersight, QPortfolio, Accupamp, and/or Spotfire would be an asset

Education

- Must be enrolled in a Mechanical / Chemical / Petroleum Engineering Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term

- Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered

- New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.

- Background in Business / Economics would be an asset
