Within the Accounting function, you could be placed in one of the following Cenovus business units, including:

- Canadian Refined Products (CRP) Commercial Transactions

- Tax Compliance

- Internal Audit

What You’ll Do

- Prepare monthly PST/GST and simple tax returns

- Assist team with the advanced preparation of the annual compliance cycle

- Assist other team members with larger and more difficult returns

- Assist the Accounts Receivable and miscellaneous invoices

- Credit card account reconciliation

- Support internal audit planning

- Develop terms of reference and work programs

- Execute audit test procedures and contribute to internal audit reports

Who You Are

Our ideal candidate will have the following minimum qualifications:

- Legally authorized to work in Canada full-time for the duration of your work term and able to produce documentation upon application (e.g., work visa)

- Available to begin work in January 2026

- Strong analytical and critical thinking

- Excellent attention to detail

- Communication and collaboration skills are essential for success

- Familiarity with accounting platforms such as Blackline, TaxPrep, and/or SAP is considered an asset

- Experience with data analysis tools such as Power BI, Databricks, Python, and/or KNIME, is considered an asset

- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.) and Sharepoint

Education

- Must be enrolled in a Business / Accounting Undergraduate Program at an accredited post-secondary institution at the time of intended work term and returning to full-time studies after the work term OR registered in an accredited post-secondary co-op or internship program for the duration of the work term

- Candidates currently enrolled in either a Masters or Ph.D. program at an accredited post-secondary institution may also be considered

- New graduates are not eligible for student opportunities.
