A key Optimus client is seeking an Analyst to Senior Analyst level professional to join the company's team focused on complex transaction structuring. This client is a major player in the commodity-trading arena with both a marketing and trading presence as well as a considerable asset base.
Some key points of responsibility will be:
•Identifying the risk components and pricing characteristics of complex transactions
•Developing and managing the models and reporting infrastructure necessary to provide consistent, repeatable and competitive pricing
•Pricing of complex transactions and maintaining communication lines such that relevant parties are up to date on transaction status
•Developing and maintaining accurate pricing inputs
•Participating and Interacting with Marketing and Origination, Credit, Legal and other key organization functions where necessary to complete Deal Evaluation processes
•Ensuring that all pricing components and structures meet with the organization’s internal risk-return as well as compliance/controls guidelines
•Assisting with hedge recommendations to ensure risks are properly mitigated
A qualified candidate for this role should have at least the following characteristics:
•2 or more years experience evaluating transactions, structuring pricing and valuation components or experience in fundamental modeling of power market areas
•A broad knowledge of Natural Gas and Power Transactions
•Experience developing standardized models that can be utilized and supported in a repeatable fashion
•A bachelor degree in engineering or other mathematically based discipline with an advanced degree a plus
•Experience in MS Excel, Python, R or similar technologies
Preference may be given to candidates who can also demonstrate:
•A solid understanding of the structuring process for origination flow, acquisitions, Retail C&I as well as Power Asset Optimization
