Structural Engineer Level I

POSITION: Structural Engineer Level I WORKSITE: 17220 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77094

Responsibilities include: Providing specialist skills and knowledge in key areas of structural engineering, including design codes, legislative requirements and current good engineering practice; production of deliverables, which may include preparation and checking of design reports, engineering support to drawing office, design calculations, specifications, procedures, analyses, progress reports, bid evaluations, study reports and various third party submissions; providing in-place design, transportation and lifting analysis and sea fastening design using various software packages; designing and detailing in accordance with acknowledged industry codes, standards and design guidelines, client specifications and scopes of work; producing and reviewing design documentation including feasibility reports, detailed design reports, equipment specifications; producing specifications, data sheets and MTOs; providing stress analysis utilizing STAAD Pro, CAESAR, ANSYS or similar software; coordinating structural engineering support to the execution of multi-discipline projects in line with defined budget and schedule; providing specialist structural engineering assistance during occasional periods of offshore or site working.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, civil, or structural engineering or closely related and a minimum of one year experience in the design of structures within marine and/or oil and gas industries; knowledge of marine classification, local legislation, industry codes, standards and design guidelines; stress analysis, and supporting package engineering and management.
