Reporting to the Manager Strategic Sourcing, you will be part of the Procurement Department. You will more specifically be a part of the Strategic Sourcing team for the Canadian Operations. You will oversee the procurement cycle for strategic sourcing activities to deliver cost savings and operational performance through methodologies such as category analysis, defining sourcing strategy, tendering, negotiation and contract implementation and Supplier Governance. You will ensure that objectives are met while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle's values, the health and safety code of conduct and the environment.
- Responsible for the procurement planning, tendering, and evaluation of bids.
- Responsible for ensuring that AEM processes and procedures are being followed as it relates to procurement activity.
- Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Construction in developing bid packages / scopes of works.
- Ensure that goods and services will be procured for the most economically beneficial price which meets the specified requirements relative to the scope of work, quality, and schedule.
- Ensure terms & conditions of applicable Impact Benefit Agreement’s are followed.
- Contract negotiation, implementation, and governance.
- Category management.
- Bachelor’s Degree in one of these sectors (Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Marketing, Engineering);
- A procurement certification (CSCP, CPP, CMA or CPSM) is considered an asset.
- Experience in an industrial setting or heavy industry (mining experience is considered an asset);
- Cultural awareness and experience working with Indigenous communities is considered an asset;
- Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office software, especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
- Schedule: 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday. A combination of remote work and on-site work at one of our offices in Toronto, Timmins, Kirkland Lake, North Bay, or Sudbury, ON;
- Travel: 30% travel to mining sites, other offices, or suppliers.
