Steel - Loader/ Overhead Crane Op - 2nd Shift, 3 pm-11 pm

2nd Shift

Now hiring responsible and reliable individual to join our production team as Loader/ Crane Operator.

Prior experience with steel industry a plus. Overhead crane experience a plus but will train.

This is a direct hire, permanent position. Top end of posted wage range after training.

- 2nd Shift: Monday - Friday, 3-11 pm, with some mandatory OT to 1:30 am

- Some mandatory Saturdays as needed

GENERAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES include but not limited to:

- Pre-inspection of overhead crane.

- Storing, organizing, gathering, staging and loading of steel bundles weighing up to 10,000 lbs.

- Other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or other designated leaders/ Supervisors.

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Must pass drug screening.

- Read, write and speak English

- Familiarity with math, weights, and measurements; ability to read and understand conversion tables.

- Good organizational skills and spatial reasoning.

- Ability to learn and proficiently use a bar code scanner and overhead crane, and hand-held tools.

Skills/ Abilities

- Must be responsible and reliable.

- Communicate and work effectively with a team.

- Have a basic familiarity with measurements

- Understand and be able to engage in basic math, measurements and weights.

- Ability to learn and properly use a micrometer, ruler and bar code scanner.

- Physically able to walk and stand constantly, frequently stoop, bend, climb, twist and reach above shoulder height with up to a 10-pound load.

- Push, pull and lift up to 15 pounds frequently, 30 pounds occasionally.
