The North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) is a not-for-profit international regulatory authority whose mission is to assure the effective and efficient reduction of risks to the reliability and security of the grid. NERC develops and enforces Reliability Standards; annually assesses seasonal and long‐term reliability; monitors the bulk power system through system awareness; and educates, trains, and certifies industry personnel. NERC’s area of responsibility spans the continental United States, Canada, and the northern portion of Baja California, Mexico. NERC is the Electric Reliability Organization (ERO) for North America, subject to oversight by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and provincial authorities in Canada. NERC’s jurisdiction includes users, owners, and operators of the bulk power system, which serves nearly 400 million people.

The Standards Development Administrator will administer standards registration, balloting, and electronic systems for NERC’s Standards Information area along with providing administrative support of a varied nature to the Standards Development area. The Standards Development Administrator reports to the Manager of Standard Information.
The Standards Development Administrator will support multiple, concurrent Standards Development projects and activities through tasks including the following:
- Prepare and post meeting agendas, minutes, draft standards, and related documents to the NERC website to reflect the status of Standards Development efforts.
- Maintain the public NERC Standards calendar for all project-related Standards Development, drafting team meetings, workshops, webinars, and other items as needed.
- Respond to industry stakeholder inquiries related to Standards Development processes and supporting systems.
- Administer the standard registration and balloting processes by preparing ballot events, helping stakeholders register to become members of the Registered Ballot Body, and fielding technical questions associated with registration and balloting.
- Maintain a public record of NERC Standards Development activities in accordance with the current NERC Rules of Procedure by maintaining, providing quality assurance review of, and recommending improvements to the public NERC Reliability Standards webpages.
- Conduct extensive and frequent document reviews for project-related Standards Development and other ad-hoc items as needed.
- Administer electronic systems for the collection and publication of stakeholder comments on standard-related projects.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
The successful candidate will have at a minimum:
- Four-year degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Two or more years’ work experience in a high-volume production environment.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office applications, including ability to use advanced formatting with Microsoft Word and Adobe Acrobat.
- Exceptional focus and diligence. Skills in proofing, editing, or other detailed work.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills, including excellent grammar and spelling.
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment without direct supervision to meet deadlines, manage multiple tasks, and accept shifting priorities.
- Experience with administering web content, understanding of process to place content on webpages.
- Working knowledge of NERC’s standards process.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to think “outside the box” by making recommendations for improvements to processes and tools.

- This position has been classified as exempt.
- The position may be based remotely but must be able to travel to NERC offices if needed. Reimbursement of travel expenses will be in accordance with the company’s travel and expense reimbursement policies.
