Job Summary:
Responsible for review and/or preparation of engineering design and project documents for various company water and wastewater projects. Provides evaluation of company systems. Provides technical support to the other departments as required. Reports to the Director of Engineering.
What You’ll Do:
•Assist Project Engineer in preparing scope, scheduling, and budget for capital construction and engineering projects.
•Prepare engineering, construction, and contract documents for capital construction and engineering projects.
•Perform project site surveys and other fieldwork as required including utilizing survey and/or GPS unit.
•Prepare capital construction work orders and purchase orders.
•Prepare regulatory permit application and submittals.
•Prepare engineering design and construction review in accordance with Tidewater’s Specifications and all applicable regulations.
•Prepare required regulatory reports.
•Collect operation and facility data and conducts field tests in order to determine the ability of company systems to meet regulatory requirements and perform in accordance with engineering practice guidelines.
•Assist in project engineering of projects including planning, design and/or construction inspection and management as needed. The types of projects include pipe work, buildings pump stations, storage reservoirs, tanks, treatment-plants water supply and wastewater disposal
•Create and edits GIS data using ESRI software.
•Integrate GPS data with GIS.
•Perform hydraulic modeling functions and integration with GIS.
•Provide technical support to Operations and Customer Service Department.
•Prepare weekly timesheets distributing labor to appropriate job and cost codes.
•Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings.
•Perform related duties as required.
What You Bring to the Team:
•Manage multiple activities and issues towards successful completion of assignments/projects in accordance with scope, schedule and budget and SOP’s.
•Capability to interpret needs and make decisions consistent with and based on company general guidelines, objectives, and policies.
•Demonstrated ability for technical writing for concise and presentable materials (reports and presentations
•Ability to read and interpret, submissions and edit engineering plans and specifications.
•Problem solving ability to take concept ideas, developing designs for solutions and project plans.
•Demonstrated ability to provide direction and/or supervision to subordinates, vendors/contractors, peers to accomplish stated objectives.
•Able to interact, communicate and represent the Company with coworkers, customers, peers, stakeholders, contractors, and officials towards successful results.
•Manage capital projects of minor complexity.
•Complete design reviews for developer projects of minor complexity
•Manage DelDOT permits for various developer and company activities.
•Respond to various requests for system service information.
Qualifications:
•Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related scientific field from an accredited college or university.
•Engineer in Training (EIT or FE) certification preferred.
•Knowledge of engineering and construction principles and practices.
•Familiar with the interpretation or application of local, state, and federal laws/regulations.
•Knowledge of computer based word processing, spreadsheet, database, drawing and modeling applications including ESRI and Water Gems.
•Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Compensation & Benefits:
•Salary Range: $48,871- $73,307 annually, based on experience and qualifications.

Physical Requirements:
•This position requires constant operation of a computer and other office equipment such as printers, copiers, calculators.
•Must have the ability to visually inspect and review hard copy and online documents.
•Must be able to communicate, detect, converse with, discern, convey, express oneself, discuss and exchange information.
•Use written, verbal and audio communication and information sources.
•Must be able to move about inside the office and use stairs to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
•Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50 % of the time
