CAS is seeking to add to our team a Senior Pipe Stress Engineer that is proficient in CAESAR II pipe stress analysis. Requirements include the engineer analyzes complex piping systems for structural integrity, developing stress models, performing static analysis, ensuring code compliance, and mentoring junior staff, interfacing with designers, clients, and suppliers to resolve critical issues and deliver safe, efficient piping designs for industries like Oil & Gas, Power, and Chemical Processing.
- Analysis & Modeling:
Create and manage detailed CAESAR II models, performing static (weight, thermal expansion) stress analysis for critical equipment (pumps, turbines, vessels).
- Code Compliance:
Apply and interpret codes (ASME B31.1, B31.3, API, WRC) to ensure piping meets all regulatory and project standards.
- Support Design:
Specify and design pipe supports, guides, anchors, spring hangers, and expansion joints, including data sheet preparation.
- Load Evaluation:
Calculate and evaluate stresses, displacements, and reactions on equipment nozzles and structural supports.
- Technical Leadership:
Act as a subject matter expert, mentor junior engineers, review work, and provide solutions to complex stress problems.
- Collaboration:
Interface with piping designers, structural engineers, project managers, and clients to resolve design issues.
- Reporting:
Prepare stress reports, review drawings (3D models), and manage the stress analysis workflow.
- Education:
BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience:
15+ years in pipe stress analysis, with project experience in industry.- Software:
Proficiency in CAESAR II is essential; familiarity with PV Elite, Compress, AutoCAD Plant 3D is a plus.
- Knowledge:
Deep understanding of piping codes, support types, and fatigue analysis.
- Soft Skills:
Strong technical communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
