Sr. Nuclear Engineering Technologist – PE Support

This job will be filled at the fourth level of the non-Engineer degreed engineering technologist job classification. This position is preferably located at McGuire Nuclear Station (Huntersville, NC) with location at Harris Nuclear Plant (New Hill, NC) as an alternative option, however, other nuclear sites are acceptable options as well.

Senior Engineering Technologist provide technical expertise to solve more complex problems, and leadership skills to manage work in a specific area of expertise, with minimal supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently with increased latitude for unreviewed work.

The Procurement Engineering (PE) Support Engineering Technologist is a corporate Nuclear Engineering Department position that supports all Duke Energy nuclear sites. The primary function of this job is to provide support for the Duke Energy nuclear sites in the area of PE Support by establishing Safety-Related & Augmented Quality Catalog IDs by providing technical and quality assurance requirements in support of procurement, receipt, dedication testing, and storage of plant components, parts, materials and services. Engineering Technologist interacts with site personnel (Management, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, etc.) for adjusting work priorities and schedules as it relates to PE Support activities and supporting emergent activities in a constructive and professional manner, including during outages.

This position reports directly to the PE Support Manager and must be capable of working under limited supervision and exercising good engineering judgment in performance of duties. This position may handle more complex projects or analysis in addition to completing non-routine projects with minimal oversight.
