Nuclear Engineer III (Mechanical Engineer) is the intermediate level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees at this level solve more complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with general supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with greater independence. They effectively apply fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied.

Senior Nuclear Engineer (Mechanical Engineer) is the career/senior level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees at this level manage work in engineering areas of mechanical design support with minimal supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently, with guidance limited to unusual or complex projects or issues. They are fully competent in the use of concepts and procedures. They identify problems, develop solutions, and take actions to resolve. Senior Engineer represents a level at which career may stabilize for many years.

Basic/Required QualificationsNuclear Engineer III* Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Not Technology) from an ABET accredited program. A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. engineering degree.

Senior Nuclear Engineer* Graduation from a four-year college or university with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Not Technology) from an ABET accredited program. A Master's degree in engineering will be considered in lieu of the B.S. engineering degree.

Additional Preferred Qualifications* Experience with ONS civil design and support/hanger evaluations

Specific Requirements* Minimum of 1 year of nuclear experience

Working Conditions* Typically, an office environment with some work in the plant
