Senior Mechanical Engineering Technician

Position Summary
The Senior Mechanical Engineering Technician is responsible for mechanical and thermal performance and functional verification testing, support and troubleshoot electromechanical components and subsystems in fuel cell systems. This role requires strong mechanical, instrumentation, fabrication, assembly and other skills needed for fuel cell system prototype testing. An ideal candidate shall be able to setup needed test bench and conduct performance, functional, durability testing, as well as troubleshoot electromechanical components and subsystems of fuel cell systems. The role also requires close interaction with the engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure any issues get communicated and resolved in a timely manner.
The candidate must be self-motivated and self-disciplined, able to handle multiple project assignments and complete the tasks on time. The candidate must be willing to learn and adapt in a fast-paced engineering organization.This position will report to the Director of Mechanical Engineering.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
•Set up needed test bench and instrumentation for fuel cell systems, electromechanical components or subsystems testing and data acquisition.
•Ability to troubleshoot and repair fuel cell electromechanical subsystems and components.
•Support needed testing to optimize system performance.
•Manage test systems and equipment as required to conduct needed testing.
•Ability to conduct needed certification testing and document the test results.
•Responsible for constructing and operating test stations used to test electromechanical parts and subsystems such as valves, compressors, pumps, blowers, fans, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, power supplies and controllers.
•Thoroughly understand prototype lab systems operation and possess the ability to troubleshoot electromechanical components and subsystems faults.
•Must follow the established processes and procedures including EHS and Engineering.
•Must be a team player. May be under technical direction and guidance of the responsible mechanical engineer for a specific project as needed.
Education and Experience
•Associate degree in mechanical engineering with minimum 4 years relevant work experience or High School diploma with minimum 8 years of relevant experience in similar role.
•Experience in setting up electromechanical test stations and conducting performance, functional, and durability testing is required.
•Working knowledge of data acquisition tools such as National Instruments, Beckhoff or similar and knowledge of LabVIEW is preferred but not required.
•Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and P&ID drawings.
•Ability to create electrical harnesses and troubleshoot circuits using a multimeter.
•Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment is required.
•Knowledge of data analysis tools such as excel is preferred.
•Must be able to communicate effectively in verbal and written form using Microsoft Office tool

Estimated Base Salary Range:
$30.80 - $44.40
